Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. (Prov 4:26-27)
When I travel to Louisiana during the holidays to visit family I take the same route each time. To get from Oklahoma City, Ok to Eunice, La. I start out on I-35 going south toward Dallas, TX through Terrell and Tyler, TX, then I jump on I-20 east going into Shreveport, La. before taking I-49 south into Alexandria ending at Eunice, La via US-167. It’s about a nine hour drive from Oklahoma City to Eunice. There are a lot of ways to get from Oklahoma City to Eunice but this is probably the quickest and easiest way. If I where to take some alternate route I’m sure that I could make it, but it may be 12 hours later, hundreds of dollars more expensive, and possibly more dangerous, not to mention that I could get lost.
As Believers in Christ, our journey is pretty much the same. If we follow God’s plan for our lives it is possible that we can arrive at the place God desires for us a lot sooner, smoother, and safer than if we take the wheel and drive by our own navigation. Doing things our way often times is very dangerous, costs us a lot more, and in a lot of cases, takes us a lot longer to get where God is leading us, we may even arrive at the point where God has been directing us only after many years of heartache, disappointment, discouragement, and lost. Or, we may not arrive at all.
If God is calling you to a particular place today, do not harden your heart, but listen. Consider the path that you are on right now. God is the best guide that we can have on this road to redemption. Let him navigate your life today and you will finally arrive at your destination.
