11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Everybody is looking for it, and with the New Year rapidly approaching, adjustments are being made by countless individuals in hopes of securing theirs.

Purpose

What’s my purpose in life? That’s the question which haunts a lot of people. There seems to be an innate longing to discover what we were created to do or be. The verse from Jeremiah’s prophecy tells us that the Sovereign Creator has a purpose for each of us! While we may not yet understand what we were created to do or be, we can understand that what God wants for us is to give us peace, a future and a hope. We can find rest from our troubles if we “abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. Even in the face of danger and uncertain times we can have peace within our souls and hope for the future that will not fade, because the Lord is our salvation!

While all of these things are true, not everyone has the blessing of living in their God-given purpose! This type of life can only be found in Jesus! Trust in the Lord at all times and do not trust your own understanding. There is a way which seems right to a man put its end is destruction. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life we are all searching for!
